Meet Hope Hendrix, LCSW

Hello and welcome! My name is Hope Hendrix (her/hers/she), the owner and Clinical Director of Peace in Pearl’s Heart Counseling, PLLC. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I believe that just as physical health, mental health is equally important. I am passionate and dedicated to providing services to individuals and families that promote a healthy psychological well-being. At Peace in Pearl’s Heart Counseling, my goal is to cultivate a peaceful, engaging, and comfortable environment in which you feel embraced and free to fully express your most authentic self without fear of judgement, shame, or worry.
I graduated from the University of Kentucky, where I obtained my Bachelor’s and Master's degree in clinical social work. My Master’s degree was earned with a specialty in integrated behavioral health; working alongside other professional disciplines (psychiatry, physicians, dentistry, dieticians, etc) in order to increase effectiveness and close gaps in healthcare treatment.
My experience providing mental health services has mostly been in the company of individuals (children, adolescents, adults) and families. These experiences have taken place in clinical, home, school, office, and community settings. A majority of my experience as a therapist, as well as my particular areas of interest and specialized training has been with those who have experienced trauma and/or are struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, anger, and family conflicts. I also assist those struggling with grief, racial trauma/stress, navigating transitions, behavioral management, daily life decision-making and processing, and those seeking support to cope with family members struggling with mental health issues.
I have found that treatment is most effective when there is a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, comfort, and compassion. I understand how difficult it can be to be vulnerable. I welcome the opportunity to explore if I may be that comfort for you. If you decide otherwise, or your concerns are outside of my scope of practice, I will do my best to provide you with additional resources and connect you to another mental health professional who can better assist you. Unfortunately at this time, I do not provide services for couples or those struggling with substance misuse.
I understand that humans are complex beings and there is no “one size fits all” approach to therapy. I aim to meet each person/family where they are. To me, meeting someone where they are means that I actively listen and diagnosis values, styles (communication, learning, behaviors) needs, and emotions in order to connect in a way that is effective in that moment.
In an attempt to meet people where they are, I have been trained in multiple approaches; allowing me to bring an overarching holistic, client centered approach into the therapy room. I take into consideration the physical, social, spiritual and mental aspects of each person in order to tailor therapy to their specific need. I believe each client is the expert of their presenting obstacles. My approach will always be collaborative and empathetic. I stand beside and embrace the uniqueness of each individual, or family as they enter an important process of self-discovery, growth, and healing.
